Hebrew Instructions for the cardboard shapes

For my Hebrew speaking readers I'll enclose some instructions for the cardboard that I made in... what do you know... Hebrew...

לכל הקוראים דוברי העברית שלי, הנה הוראות לצורות הקרטון ביצוע שיצרתי (שנמצאות בפוסט הקודם) בעברית. אתם יכולים להשתמש בתמונות מהפוסט הקודם כעזרה לצעדים...

קרה לכם שראיתם את הצורות או האותיות שעשויות מקרטון ביצוע בחנויות ומתתם לקנות אותם?
בכל פעם שאני רואה אותם, אני חושבת על זה שאני חייבת לקצץ בהוצאות הסקראפ שלי. דבר נוסף שעולה לי לראש זה שאני חייבת לנסות להכין אותם בעצמי.
אז הכנתי. וגם לכם כדאי. תנסו...

כלים וציוד:
- קרטון ביצוע או כל קרטון אחר שעבה מספיק. חשוב לקנות בגודל שמתאים לצורה שאתם רוצים ליצור.
- נייר קופי (או נייר העתקה בעברית יפה). ממש לא חובה.
- עיפרון (או כל כלי כתיבה נוח אחר).
- מספריים או סכין חיתוך (מה שיותר נוח).
- נייר עם דוגמא שאתם אוהבים.
- דבק (רצוי דבק נטול חומציות ונטול ליגנין).
- פצירה (או כל כלי שיוף עדין אחר).
- כר דיו או מרקר בצבע מתאים.
- קישוטים מכל מיני סוגים.

הוראות הכנה:
1. תעתיקו את הצורה הרצויה אל קרטון הביצוע. אתם יכולים להעתיק את הצורה עם הנייר קופי (או עם חותמת) או סתם לצייר ישירות על קרטון הביצוע.
2. חיתכו את הצורה עם מספריים או עם סכין חיתוך.
3. שייפו את הקצוות של הצורה לקבלת צורה חלקה. את השיוף אתם יכולים לעשות עם פצירה פשוטה.
4. כשהצורה מוכנה, אתם יכולים להתחיל לעטוף אותה עם הנייר שבחרתם. חשוב לזכור להשאיר שוליים רחבים מספיק (מהנייר) סביב הצורה כדי שהנייר יגיע לצד האחורי של הצורה. בצורה הזו, כל הצדדים הנראים לעין של הצורה יהיו עטופים בנייר היפה שבחרתם.
5. אחרי שהצורה חתוכה ועטופה, אתם יכולים להשתמש בכרית הדיו (או במרקר) כדי להדגיש את הקצוות של הצורה. בנוסף, אתם יכולים לאמבלש (סתם, נסחפתי...), כלומר לקשט, את הצורה שיצרתם עם מה שתרצו (סרטים, סיכות מתפצלות, ניטים, חותמות וכו' וכו'...)
6. זהו, סיימתם!!!אתם יכולים להשתמש בצורה ה"משופצרת" שלכם לכל פרויקט שרק תרצו.

הצעת שדרוג!
אתם יכולים ליצור אותיות או צורות שונות של אבזמים ולהשתמש בהם לאלבום הסקראפ שלכם או בכרטיסי ברכה שאתם יוצרים.
אפשרות נוספת היא ליצור צורות פשוטות יותר (כמו עיגול, ריבוע, פרח וכו') שישמשו ככריכה לאלבומיני שתצרו (או לאלבום בגודל רגיל – תלוי כמה קרטון ביצוע אתם מאחסנים בבית).

I made some cardboard shapes

Did you ever see those shapes or letters in the shops made out of chipboard and were dying to buy them?
Every time I see them I think of the fact that I need to cut down on my scrapbooking shopping. Another thing that comes to my mind is that I should try and make them myself.
Well I did. And you should try it to. Here’s how…

Tools & Supplies:
- Chipboard or cardboard big enough for the size of the shape you want to make.
- A tracing paper (not a must)
- Pencil
- A pair of scissors or a cutter of some sort
- Pattern paper
- Glue (it would be best if you use an acid & lignin free glue. choose the one you’re most comfortable working with)
- Nail file (or any other kind of smoothing tool)
- Ink pad or a simple marker in a complimentary color
- Embellishments (any kind you like)

Instructions:

1. Copy the desired shape on to a piece of chipboard or some other kind of cardboard. You can copy your shape to the cardboard with a tracing paper or by using a stamp. You can decide on a shape you want and simply draw it directly on to the cardboard.






2. Cut out the shape out with scissors or with any other kind of cutter.










3. Smooth out the edges with any kind of smoothing tool. You can even you a simple nail file.








4. Once your shape is ready, you can start wrapping it with your chosen patterned paper. Make sure that you leave margins that are wide enough to reach the back end of your shape (so that all the visible sides of the shape – including the sides – are completely wrapped. Otherwise it looks unprofessional…).

5. After your shape is wrapped, you can use ink or a simple marker to stress the edges of your shape. You can also embellish your shape with any kind of embellishment you might have (Brads, Gems, Stamps, Paper\Silk Flowers etc…).
6. You’re all done!!!You can use your touched up shape to any kind of project you like.

Step it up!
Create shapes like letters or different kinds of buckles to use in your scrapbook album or on a greeting card.Create simpler shapes (like a square, a circle, a flower shape etc.) for the front and back covers of your self-made mini album (or regular size album – depending on the amounts of cardboard you have).

Templates, Templates and more TEMPLATES !!!

Well, today I sat down and started making a huge powerpoint file that will contain all my ideas (or templates) for greeting cards that I think about during the day.

I'll upload all the templates that I thought of today and every so often I'll upload some more of the templates that I'll create.

Keep in mind that all of the templates are in a "blueish" color. I tried to differentiate the elements on the card by picking different hues of blue.

This is the first template I've created today.

It combines some ribbons, a pattern paper for the background, a medium size embellishment and a title on a tag or straight on the card.

Every element in the templates has a legend written on it so you'll know if it's a ribbon, an embellishment or whatever...

In the next few days I'll be making cards from these templates and I'll upload the pictures here so you'll be able to see the results.

The greeting cards album

After making all kinds of changes and adjusting the look of the pictures (the lighting, the contrast etc.), you're all welcome to view my Greeting Cards Album at Picasa.

Ron’s Birthday!

On the 2nd of May was Ron’s birthday.
Ron is a friend of mine that I know from the year I studied Biology.
Through Ron I got to know Ronit, which is now officially my new friend, since we discovered we both love scrapbooking…
Ronit has an amazing talent and she creates beautiful things all the time (including the greeting card she created for my wedding).
Anyways, for Ron’s birthday we got together with all our friends from the university (and their boyfriends) and did a barbeque at Ron’s house.
So, for Ron’s birthday I choose one of the greeting cards that I’ve created in advance and attached it to the birthday present that we bought him.

Happy Birthday Ron! I’m sorry if we totally “leeched” you with the barbeque… Actually, I’m not sorry – It was soooo tasty…

All the patterned papers on this card are from the Canon's scrapbooking site (the link is on the right - under the list of favorite sites).
It's a great site for scrapbookers (is that a word???) that has lots and lots of background paper, patterned paper, tags, borders and other stuff for you to print - totally FREE!!!

Now that I've introduced myself I can start sharing my creations with you.I'll start by giving you a direct link to my first web album in Picasa.This album contains all the pages I've maid of my digital wedding album.I got the idea of making a digital wedding album when we got the printed digital album from our photographer.
When I saw the printed digital album we got, I decided to try and learn how to create digital albums.
After a few weeks, the digital album was complete!
I was so proud of myself since the reactions I got for most of the pages were positive.
All the pictures in this web album are blurred. We decided to publish the pictures only after blurring them in order to keep our privacy (at least to try and keep our privacy).
I'll be happy to get your opinions on this album.
