Random Card Wednesday #5

For this week I have a cute card that I made with a Bella stamp (which you already know that I adore!!!).

I'll tell you how it started... My sweet friend, Ronit, had to make a card for a bachelorette party so I joined her in the process and we made some cards... well, she made a card and I made a card.. that's "some cards", right?

So, with that "wedding" theme in the air I made a cute card with one of the images from one of the wedding themed Bella stamps (I don't remember the name - sorry):
The letters were cut in Ronit's newly purchased Critcut. The thing is... I used white cardstock to cut those letters but when I looked at the card with white letters, something just wasn't right, d'you know what I mean? So, I colored them red with my Sharpies (gotta love those Sharpies).

I used some foam adhesive tape on this card to make the red "block" pop up a little bit more.

Since the stamped image was glued to the raised red "block", I didn't even had to use additional foam adhesive tape at the top of the stamped image:
The last picture just shows the coloring I've made with some water pencils. I love that soft look it gives:
Thanks for looking everyone!
I hope you had a great year and will have a wonderful new year!

Handmade Page Thursday #4

This week I have another special page for you from my wedding album:

It's another hibrid page... I turned the background to sepia and left our figures in vivid color.
As you can see, the background is an old wall, so I cut 2 corners into 3 equal squares in each corner. That cutting pattern goes along great with the wall image in the background.

I addition, the frame of the photo was torn instead of cut to make it look a bit older than it is.

Hope you like it.

Random Card Wednesday #4

Well, this time I have another Color Inspiration Card.

I used the Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration #5:
The background of the card is made out of white cardstock that I embossed with my Cuttlebug's "Thanks" embossing folder.

Here are a few more angles of the card:

I love those olive-green gems. I got them from my friends for my last birthday. Thanks you guys!

Thank you all for looking!

Handmade Page Thursday #3

It's that day again! YAY!!

Today I'll show you a page that I've made that took me a long long time (although it looks relatively simpe).

It took me so long because I didn't have my Nestabilities yet so I had to cut the little frame with a cutting knife and use a ruller to measure the frame... In short, a LONG time.

Note to self: Next time, wait for the Nestabilities to arrive before choosing the hard way.

Since I didn't ask for the people's permission to post their pictures in my blog, I blured their faces. The picutre is less cute than it is without the blur, but - What can you do?

Thanks for looking!

Random Card Wednesday #3

For the third week of my RCW I decided to start the Kristina Werner's Color Inspirations from the start.

After looking through all the amazing color combos she has in her blog I choosed Color Inspiration #3:

And here's what I came up with:

It's a very simple card that I made from white cardstock the I ran through my Cuttlebug with my "birds & swirls" embossing folder.

Here's the card from anothr angle:

You can see that I used foam adhesive tape to raise the Prima flowers' "platforms".

I think it has a classic look. What do you think?

Handmade Page Thursday #2

Yay! It's that day of the week again and I have a brand new page to share with you today right off my wedding album. It's another hybrid page (digitally enhanced photo on a handmade page).
I turned the background to black & white and left our figures in vivid color. Then I made 2 strips in 2 different widths out of the right end of the photo and glued them with a little bit of space between them.
To soften the page a bit, I added a hand-drawn doodle with a white gel pen.

It's one of my most favorite photos.

Random Card Wednesday #2

It's that time of the week again - RCW. YAY!!

To tell you the truth? I didn't think I'd have another card ready in time. But I do! I surprise myself once in a while... lol..

Anyway, on to the card. I decided to use some colors that I don't use generally.
So I used dark red, orange and blue.

I loved this card so much that I decided to take a bunch of it:

What do you think? I hope you like it.

Zipi-di-do-da Zipi-di-hey!

I love Disney. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm addicted to all animated films.
Even when I create something I have a playlist of about 15 movies that I play repeatedly and listen to while I create. I have Disney's Aladdin there (which I adore) and the fox & the hound with a few more cute movies.

But enough about that - The next letters challenge on T4F (Table for five) is a Disney challenge for the fourth letter in the Hebrew alphabet ("ד" or "Dalet").

So, I've made a set of cards with my most loved characters from Disney:

Donald Duck

Goofy

Pluto

And my most favorite, Eeyore
I love them all but Eeyore is just so like me... lol.. I don't know if that's good but I love him.

Handmade Page Thursday

As you saw yesterday, I started a tradition called "Random Card Wednesday" (or RCW, for all you acronym-lovers).
Well, I thought - Why not use another day of the week to post album pages that I've made?

So, Here you have it - Handmade Page Thursday (or HPT... I think I'm becoming an acronym-lover).
I'll try and post each Thursday one of the album pages I'll create during the week.

Let me just explain, all the pages that I'll show under the HPT title will be very simple & clean pages. Black background with a lot of cutting patterns and a few little decorations. Not the usual scrapbooking look. That's the most common look of wedding albums here in Israel and since I'm starting my own album design business I decided to show you some of my samples.

I already showed you a few days ago one of the pages I've created. This is another one from the same album:

It's an hybrid page. I blured the background and added a shadow to our figures and printed it out. Then, I rounded 3 corners and divided one of the corners to 3 strips. To add a little sparkle to the page, I added some glitters along the belt on my dress (which you can see on the right picture).

I hope you like how it turned out.

Random Card Wednesday

I've decided to go a head and start a tradition in my blog to post a card once a week.
Since today I have one ready, I've decided to choose Wednesday as the card post's day.

So what I'll do is try (and I hope I can make it) to upload a card for you each week on Wednesday. Hence the name - "Random Card Wednesday"...

The first RCW (it has an acronym! YAY!) Card will be this one: It's a card I made a few weeks ago when I had to make one in a rush for a wedding...
I used my new corner rounder (that ronit bought for me in the US - Thanks honey!) to make the scalloped edge at the bottom.

Digital Effects Mini Album

I wanted to experiment with a few digital effects that I found over the web so I decided to make a mini album with some of the new effects that downloaded...
And there are no better photos to do that with than my friends Ron & Ronit's wedding photos.

So I made a mini album to show off my newly downloaded digital effects:
The first picture is the first page in the mini album.I've used a black&white effect here and printed it on a transparency paper. Then, I added some glitter to Ronit's dress and bracelet for that extra sparkle.

The second picture is a page in which I've use an effect called "the big picture".This effect divides the photo into small pieces and distort the pieces a bit.. Love this effect!
I couldn't resist adding a prima flower and a matching gem to the corner there...

The next picture is the puzzle effect:You can choose the amount of puzzle pieces you need and the digital effect creates the puzzle for you.
note to self: don't use a sheet of rice paper in the bind-it-all when it's not in between to pieces of cardstock...

The last (but not least) picture is the last page of the mini-album.

I used an effect called "cracked wall" ( you can see why it has that name).
I LOVE this photo!!!

These are just a few samples of the digital effects mini-album.
I hope you like it so far.

What about some of my own stuff?

It's been a long time since I've uploaded some of my own creation which had nothing to do with our T4F blog.

I've been super busy with setting up my site (there's a new link to it on the right sidebar) and my business and I haven't had any time to do a lot of things just for me.

Anyways, I finally got the time to sit down and upload some of my recent creations and share them with you all.

Let me start with a page that I've made for my wedding album. I'll only explain that here in Israel, the wedding album pages are usually very simple with a few small decoration so don't be surprised if the page doesn't look like the usual scrapbook page you're used to seeing.
This is a picture of our first slow dance at our wedding. I love this picture. It shows how in love & happy we are :) We didn't pay any attention to what's happening around us.

It's raining man

As you can see, I've been very busy with Table for Five stuff, which is such a good thing..
I love being busy, it gives me a certain "high" during the day.

Anyways, the next letter in the Hebrew Alphabet is ג or "Gimel". We chose the word "גבר" which means man (as in male).
And where does my mind goes when I hear that word? of course - to my dearest hubby!

I'm so lucky that's the word we chose... I had a LO in my wedding album that I started when I first decided to try scrapbookin and I needed to finish it ever since I started it.

So, I sat down and finished my manly LO:

In this LO I made a collage of my husband's (the groom) pix in the shape of a tie.

It took forever to make this LO. I had to draw a tie and then assemble the pictures so that they fit perfect in the tie and then glue everything together. In short - a pain.

But it turned out quite nice for an starting scrapbooker, right? well, given the fact that I only had the glitter paste, a pair of scissors and some glue, it nice.

Come on to our blog and see my friends' manly projects and share with us your own projects.

Bella! I have Bella!

I've been down with the flu in the last week and I can tell you that getting a stampinbella is a great way to make me feel better...

My friends at Table for Five & I decided to do a challenge in which each of us take the same stamp and make what ever we want with it. And, we decided to use Bella.

I love Bella, I don't have any, but I love Bella!!!

Anyways, this is what I created - I made a card for a friend's Hena party:

I used some water pencils to color Bella and a couple of my newly purchased Prima flowers.

Inside the card I stamped a "Life is Good" sentiment to match the Bella image.

You're more that welcome to come over to our blog and see my friends works and share yours...

Thanks for looking! Have a great day!

The next challenge

NEXT!

The second letter in the Hebrew alphabet is ב or "Bet". So we choose the word "בית" for this challenge. That means "home".

So I sat down and thought what does the word "Home" means to me and I immediately remembered my mom's cooking.
So now I'm thinking "I've gotta start making stuff to eat around the house... If we'll eat another pizza - the next time we'll do a blood test melted cheese will come out"...

First step is to make a recipes box, and here it is:

What do you think? Come to Table for Five and see my girls projects with this subject.

Love Love Love

As you all know, I'm part of a new design team, so to speak, at our new blog http://table-for-five.blogspot.com/.

Well, we decided on themes for each one of the Hebrew alphabet.
The first letter in Hebrew is א or "Alef", so we chose the wore "אהבה" which means "LOVE".

So I found a pattern for a cute card on the web (I can't even remember where...) and decided to go with it.
I found a cute poem to attach to the card and there you have it, my love card:

I waiting to see your interpertation at Table for Five.

I've been tagged! Again!

This game is going around the blogging girls in Israel and it reached my blog through Diana.
Well, I'm supposed to tell 7 facts about myself and tag some other 7 blogs and let them know about it.

So, here we go - 7 facts about me:

1. It's been almost a decade since my hair was last seen in it original color.. It's starting to come out just now. I've been dyeing my hair in various colors since I was about 15 or 16...

2. I'm an animal trustee... which means in Israel that I made a pledge to help to stop all animal cruelty in all it's forms, to educate people about animals and to prevent any kind of violent acts against animals (I can go up to a person if he's hurting an animal and ask for his details and give him an actual & official report. I have that permission from Israel's police force).

3. I just recently started to cook on my own. It's quite a challenge for me but I'm slowly learning.. How long can I keep taking my mom's cooking to my place?

4. I work as a Software Quality Tester... and yes it's as boring as it sounds... and it has nothing to do with crafts or creativity. At least the people I work with are awesome!

5. I don't like girly shopping. I hate trying out clothes, shoes, accessories etc. When I'm going out for clothes shopping I try and shop it all in one store in half an hour. tops. For example, I had to buy a cute outfit for my Hena ceremony (a ceremony we have about a week before the wedding). So on the day of the ceremony I went out to a local store and bought the outfit and the shoes in the same store and in 15 minutes. I went in, looked at the outfits on sale, picked one, tried it on, found a pair of shoes, tried them on, looked in the mirror, changed my clothes back, paid and left. I didn't pause for a second. Fast as lightning - just how I love my shopping!

6. I have my own business for designing wedding album. I just started it so there's a lot of work to be done (set up a site, get the first customers etc.) - That's the reason I haven't been around lately...

7. I don't like to get tagged... at first. I'll explain - each time I'm getting tagged all I can think about is "not again. what else can I write that I haven't written already? why me?". But then when I start writing the post for the tag game I enjoy thinking about what to write, remembering things about me that I forgot (yes, it happens), picking people to tag... the whole thing. I had fun with this one.

The 7 girls I chose to tag are all from my SBS19 group:
1. Jennifer's blog
2. Jennie's blog
3. Wendy's blog
4. Sue's blog
5. Juanita's blog
6. Anabela's blog
7. Jo's blog

Wow. That was long.. I'm off to tell the girls they've been tagged.

A little bit of Math

You take 5 women.
Add 1 table.
Add tons of scrapbooking suplies multiplied by 5.
Substract a lot of time away from home.
Add tons of fun & laughter.
All that equals to one big happy friendship that "gave birth" to a cute blog (yes, another one.. I just can't stop).
Our new blog is called Table For Five. We decided to set up a blog together that will use to publish our projects that we do together (each time in a different subject).
We'll be happy to see you there and get your responses.
Enjoy!

OMG! Buttons!

Look at the unbelievable collection of buttons that my dear-sweet-mom gave me:

Isn’t she amazing? My recent crave is buttons and I told her about it. So she just went away and found some good old buttons for me.

And believe me - The amount of buttons you see in the pictures is just about half of what she gave me.
I love them - They look great & they save me money…lol…

I love my mom!

Rosh HaShanah is Coming!!

I don't know if you know that holiday so I'll tell you a little bit about it (or in other words - I'll quote Wikipedia):

Rosh Hashanah is a Jewish holiday commonly referred to as the "Jewish New
Year". It is observed on the first day of Tishrei, the seventh month of
the Hebrew calendar, as ordained in the Torah. Rosh Hashanah is the first of the High Holidays or Yamim Noraim ("Days of Awe"), or Asseret Yemei Teshuva (The
Ten Days of Repentance), the most solemn days of the Jewish year, which
conclude with the holiday of Yom Kippur. Rosh Hashanah is
the start of the civil year in the Hebrew calendar (one of four "new year"
observances that define various legal "years" for different purposes).

Anyways, so every "Rosh Hashanah" we exchange gifts or at least greeting cards with our friends and family members.

Like every weeks for the last month or so I met with 4 other friends of mine (you'll more about them soon...) and we exchanged gifts (although we said that we won't... lol).

Look at what I got from them:

I'll go from left to right: Tamar gave me a little bag of goodies (Ribbons, Brads, Tags etc...); Diana gave me an altered box (loaded with sweet cookies inside); Ronit gave me the cute card, on the bottomof the picture, that holds 2 "sets" of cookies (you see only one "set"... I ate the other one...); and Maya gave me a home made jam with a tilda greeting card.

I love you guys! Thank you!

I hope you all have a great year!

A few new cards

Here we go...

For a long time I've been wanting to create some new cards out of some new designs that I find on the web every once in a while.
So, I sat down throughout the day on Saturday and made three cute cards with some new design.
The first one and my personal favorite is the buckle card:
I love the way you open the card. It's so cute.
In addition, I created it in my favorite color combo.

Another card that I like (again, with a loved color combo) is the tri-fold card:

Last but not least, is it usual card? is it an artistic piece for your desk? No. It's just a pop-up card... lol...
I hope you like them.
