Circle Flip Up Book

Hey everyone!
I'm back again with another creation to share with you all.
This time - it's maybe too big for my mini studio...
It's an 8" by 8" circle flip up book.
I got the instruction from splitcoaststampers (here) and it looked like something I just had to try.
I didn't noticed how time went by when I did it. When I finished it I realized that it took me 4 hours (!!!!) to make it.
So I don't know when I'll be doing this one again.
I'm not sure that I want to find myself awake at 1 am, thinking that my iphone must be showing the wrong time :)
Man... do I know how to complain... I had fun making it and that's that.

Here are the results:

So, what do you think? Was it worth my (long) while?

Words Mini Albums

So.. The crafting continues..
Well, actually, today I'm going to share with you a new idea that I have in mind.
I'm going to start making a series of word mini album..
What does it mean?
Well, it means that I'm going to take meaningful words and turn them into mini albums (each letter in each word will become a page in the mini album).
For example: BABY, MOM, DAD, FAMILY, LOVE and the list goes on and on and on...
Anyways, I'm proud to present the first mini album from the WORDS Mini Album Series: BABY.

I know.. no baby photos in the album.. It's only because it's already up for sell on my etsy shop.
Hopefully, I'll continue making some more mini albums in this series.
That's it for now - don't be shy. Tell me what you think. Are there any other words you'd like to see as a mini album?

The crafting gods have been kind

Hi everybody! What's up?
It's been a very productive weekend for me..I decided (once again) to give my etsy shop a boost so I sat down and made some things... It's so much fun to create again!
Look at what I did:
First I created a couple of mini albums.
In the first one I'm going to put pictures of Ori, my beautiful daughter (I'm sorry to say that I don't have any picture of this one - it has no photos of her in it yet).
The second one is already up for sell on Etsy.

After those two I decided to make some mini notebooks (you can see that I was in a "mini" kind of mood). I thought that I'd make a couple of them. I ended up making 4. It was fun. I got to use my bind it all and my paper trimmer. So cool!

I love time -  apparently I need it to complete old tasks... who knew?
That's it for now. Can't wait for my next creative session :)

Handmade Page Thursday #10

Hi again!
Like I promised, today I'll continue showing my sample album.

This is the first page in Ron & Ronit's section of the sample album. I decided that each couple will get about 20 layout and that way the album will hold 3 different couples.

Anyways, Here today's page:
I used Ronit's Cricut to cut out those vanilla letters. I cut them out at about 3 inches high.
In addition, I used a silver gel pen to ouline the big photo (and added a little doodle at the top).
As you can see, the photos are very similar, that's why I made only one of them in color. Just to give it an different focal point, more or less...

That's it for today, I hope you enjoyed it.

Handmade Page Thursday #9

Hello again everyone,

Like I promised, I have a new wedding album pages (or layouts) to share with you.
The album that I'll start with today is my sample album that will contain lots of layout designs with some other wedding pictures...
So, here's the first page that I made:

This page is used as the "header" of the whole album.
I used one of Ron & Ronit's wedding pictures of their shadows that I just loved.
For the letters I used some vanilla cardstock that I cut with Ronit's Cricut (awesome machine - I can stare at it for hours while it's working).
On top of the letters I added some light green gems to add some sparkle to the page.

Well, I quite liked the result. What do you say?

Handmade Page Thursday #8

Listen and Listen closely... I'm going to say it once. I've had enough of my own wedding picutres!!!
I can't look at them anymore. I know them all by heart and I've hade enough of the Layouts that I make for them..

So, Since I made a few more and haven't showed them to you yet, I decided to show you all the layouts of my wedding album at once and stop showing my own wedding pictures for a while.

Only 4 layouts, I know. But I decided to get it over with... And I bet that you started to get tired of them too... Even if you won't admit it...

So there. Now we're done. Starting from next week I'm going to show you a bunch of layouts of a different couple (Ronit & Ron - Say hi!) and when I'll run out of their wedding layouts... we'll see... Who knows??

Thanks for looking!
Have a great weekend!

Handmade Page Thursday #7

Today it has to be a very short post -I'm so sorry.. I have a lot ( and I do mean A LOT) of things to do at work and at home and yet I want to do what I promised I'll do each week..

So there you have it, a puzzle page for the HPT this week:
The cutting of the 3 corner pieces was relatively simple since I had the pazzle piece marking already printed on the photo so I just needed to cut along the line.
I hope you like this page, and I'm sorry, again, for posting such a short post this week. I promise I'll try to do better next time.
Have a great weekend!

Handmade Page Thursday #6

Happy Thursday everyone!

Have you ever wanted to have a doodling rub-on but couldn't get one at the moment you needed it? well, I have...
And let me tell you, I have one of the strongest "cravings" when it comes to buying scrapbooking supplies. This time I rejected the temptation and created my own doodling..

What's the big deal, you ask? I'll tell you - I've never done it before. I mean, besides doodling the edges of a card in a dash, dot, dash, dot pattern.

Anyways, I've made this page (that has a very cool "fan" photo at the bottom):
and I added the doodling at the top corner all by myself... I'm so proud!
Look at that:
I liked it so much that I took an additional picture just for the doodling.
Well, now it's official - I'm a doodling freak...

Thanks for looking, Come again!

Handmade Page Thursday #5

Happy New Year everyone!

I hope you all partied your a** off last night at the begining of this brand new year.
Wow, 2009.. How would've thought? I thought there would be flying cars by now... what a shame...

Anyways, back to business.
With the celebration of the new year, I'd like to share with you 2 special pages that I've made with the same photo in my wedding album:
This is the first one. As you can see, it's a super simple hibrid page. The only thing I've done is turn the whole picture into Black&White and left my rose in vivid colors.
The ripped frame was achived by... What d'you know? actually ripping the frame... lol...
And that's it. That's the whole page. Why is it that simple? I'm glad you asked.

It has another page that goes along with it (the seconde page-to-show today):
The seconde page is actully a transparency paper with the same photo printed on it. I made sure that the photo on the transparency paprt wouldn't align perfectly according to the first page that you saw earlier. That way the image gets that "ghostly" look to it, don't you think? with all the doubling of th shodows and stuff? I have to say that the picture is a bit dark due to bad lighting that day so the page looks a bit gloomy but it's actually not that dark.. I'll try to post a better picture as soon as I'll manage to take one.

The last picture is just to show you the cool thing about using transparency paper:
When you turn the page you can still see the photo and it even has the texture of the page bafore it. Well, I love it.

Thank for looking and again - Have a great new year, everyone!

Handmade Page Thursday #4

This week I have another special page for you from my wedding album:

It's another hibrid page... I turned the background to sepia and left our figures in vivid color.
As you can see, the background is an old wall, so I cut 2 corners into 3 equal squares in each corner. That cutting pattern goes along great with the wall image in the background.

I addition, the frame of the photo was torn instead of cut to make it look a bit older than it is.

Hope you like it.

Handmade Page Thursday #3

It's that day again! YAY!!

Today I'll show you a page that I've made that took me a long long time (although it looks relatively simpe).

It took me so long because I didn't have my Nestabilities yet so I had to cut the little frame with a cutting knife and use a ruller to measure the frame... In short, a LONG time.

Note to self: Next time, wait for the Nestabilities to arrive before choosing the hard way.

Since I didn't ask for the people's permission to post their pictures in my blog, I blured their faces. The picutre is less cute than it is without the blur, but - What can you do?

Thanks for looking!

Handmade Page Thursday #2

Yay! It's that day of the week again and I have a brand new page to share with you today right off my wedding album. It's another hybrid page (digitally enhanced photo on a handmade page).
I turned the background to black & white and left our figures in vivid color. Then I made 2 strips in 2 different widths out of the right end of the photo and glued them with a little bit of space between them.
To soften the page a bit, I added a hand-drawn doodle with a white gel pen.

It's one of my most favorite photos.

Thanks for looking!
