We've Got An Assignment!

So, over the weekend my good friend Keren asked Ronit & I if one of us could make her a gift card holder. She needed it for a good friend of hers.
Anyway, Ronit & I immediately decided to conduct a little contest in which we will both make gift card holders and Keren will choose the one she likes..

Needless to say, Ronit won. But that only because she lives practically next door to Keren and I don't. And her gift card holder was prettier... details. details.

I set down to make the gift card holder and decided to use Heather Bailey's template for a gift card box. Here's the box:

I also decided to make a video of me making the box, enjoy!

I hope you liked the box. Make sure that hop over to Ronit's blog to see what she made. The blog is in Hebrew but the pictures are universal... lol...

Thanks for visiting me today. Have a great day!

My First Video

So I did it. I bought a tripod.
I've been thinking about it for some time now (remember - I said that there will be some changes around here... That's one of them).

I've decided that every once in a while I'll upload a video clip of me making something.

Now, since English is not my native language I've decided that I'm not going to speak in English in the clips (decided.. yeah, right. I've tried and tried - about 15 times - to record myself in English but I just sound terrible...).

Anyways, for today's video I've created a 3 by 3 box according to this tutorial at SCS and I decided to use this color combo from Kristina's blog.
So - wish me luck (or "brake a leg" or something) - Here's my very first video clip:

I started filming this video on Friday but I had so many problems that I had to finish it on Saturday (The camera's memory card was used up to the max, so I had to upload all the photos and clips to my computer and them continue with the filming; then, the batteries died on me, so I had to recharge them over night; then I made the base totally wrong so I had to make a new one and film it).
I'm thinking about editing all the mistakes and make a bloopers clip. We'll see...

Thanks for joining me, I hope you liked it.

It’s been a while

This weekend wasn’t a very fruitful weekend. That’s why I haven’t been writing you guys.
I didn’t get the chance to create a lot but I did meet Ronit for a creation session on last Thursday.
On last Saturday, we celebrated Tu Be’Av here is Israel. It’s the Jewish Valentine’s day… So Ronit & I just had to create something for our husbands.
We went to IKEA and bought some glass jars (and some other stuff) and went to Ronit’s house to work…
We embellished the glass jars and made cards to go along with it, here’s what I made:

This is the lid of the jar that I embellished:
This is the card:
I put the card inside the jar and added some small wooden hearts to fill the box with.
While my husband took a nap, I placed the jar on his night stand (I hope that’s the right phrase) and when he woke up he saw it and… loved it.
Love you, honey!

What Goes Around Comes Around

I had no idea Maya (my friend from the last post) was going to give me a present for my birthday.
Now, her birthday July 8th, so I didn’t have to much time to prepare a gift for her birthday but I decided to do something for her so the greeting card was the first thing that was ready.

And now to the gift:
I assembled a few old CDs and some patterned paper. I punched holes (with my new “Bind-it-All”) through the CDs and gave her rings to actually bind the album.
I added some matching embellishment and there you have it: A mini-album kit.
Everything was placed in a cute box that I made from a heart shaped box of chocolate.

I really hope she’ll like it. I’m giving the whole thing to her this Thursday on the way to another class we’re going to together.

Look out... Multi-Posts Day is HERE!

Wow. Since I haven't been writing for so long I've pilled up some creations.
First, you saw the "Thanks" greeting card from the last post.
Now, last week I was in a small creative meeting. I met with another 3 girls from the Israeli Arts Forum (you can use the link if you can read Hebrew).
Anyway, we got together to learn how to make a beautiful box from an instant coffee box.
We used pattern paper, ribbons and any other embellishments we could think about.
Here's the result of my renovated box:

And if I'm already writing about it, I might as well take the chance to thank Ronit, Maya and Diana for a lovely time - I had a great time... Even if I ate a huge piece of Ronit's choclate cake - LOL!!!
