The Second SBS19 swap

This time we had to create a friendship card.
Once I read what the theme was, I immediately had an idea for the card in my mind.
I remembered that I had an image of a cute girl holding a flower, and I really think that it look like an image for a friendship or a thank you card. It’s so cute. I love it.
Anyway, as soon as the idea came up on our SBS19 group, I set down and made the card. I used some cream colored paper on top of a red paper and stamped the image on top of the cream paper and the red ribbon.
I got to trade the card with Jewel, which made me so happy because I love her cards.
I’ll show you all what she sent me as soon as I’ll get it.

Thanks for looking!

Me? Sewing?! You can’t be serious…

Well, I did it. I finally got the courage to sew something. I’m scared of sewing machines and I get bored easily with sewing by hand. But I did it!
My friends & I got together and made Tilda bags. Maya, which hosted us so wonderfully, has a Tilda book with patterns for all sorts of Tilda bags & stuff…
We were at Maya’s house till 1 am last night and we sewed like crazy. I “stabbed” myself with needles and pins at least a thousand times, but it was worth it:
And look - It's double sided...
I just love the Tilda bag that I made. It’s amazing to me that I made it. I’m thinking about making some more.
Besides, I got to know a new “scrapbook & stuff” friend & I got to spend time with my other friends – I had a great time! Thank you gals!

2 in 1

I wanted to take part in the All That Scraps Design Team Challenge for a while now.
I saw the sketch and for some reason it immediately reminded me that my mom has a birthday next week. So I decided to do 2 in 1 post. Get it? I’ll show you the card that I made for the ATSDT challenge and I’ll give it to my mom for her birthday… I’m a genius... lol...
Anyway, this is the card that I made for the ATSDT challenge & for my mom’s birthday:
What do you think of it?
I used a white cardstock and layered it withe a piece of purple "wavy" cardstock and another piece of white cardstock that I stamped with a cute image that I like. Then, I added some buttons that I got from my mom and some pearl gems. I like the result.
I attached it to the gift that I bought her:
[Picture of mom’s gift]
All in all, it turned out nice. I think…

A bit different…

I decided to do something different. You know, just to clear my head…
So, first I decided to use some of the canvases that I bought (don’t know what).
Now, what should I do? First I do something ugly… Keep reading, you’ll see what I mean.
I have some acrylic paints so I sat down and started painting the first canvas… I wanted to paint a transition from red at the bottom to yellow at the top. After painting for about 15 minutes I remember that I had no idea how to do that so I just tried whatever I thought that would help to do the transition.
Then, I decided to use some buttons to cover some parts of the border between the red and the yellow. So I sawed those on…. After that I glued a big flower and a butterfly, added a “Butterfly” title and did some doodling…
“There you go, I’m done” I thought… Well, my advice – When you try something new (and you’re not sure you know what you’re doing), take a step back (literally) every few minutes and make sure that you’re work doesn’t become a huge pile of confusion…

I don’t like it… at all. My husband, on the other hand, think that it look great and that we should hang it in the living room… You get that his idea wasn’t accepted, right? I think he just wanted to be nice, but I think it’s ugly… Wanna know what I did with it? I hanged it in my creations room to remind me not to do this mistake again… I’m thinking about making a sign for it that says: “Always take a step back. Always!”… lol…
That was a few weeks ago. Last week I decided to try again. This time I thought it through. I found this tutorial: http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2008/01/5.html.
And I decided to use that idea for a card on my canvas. I think that what I did is called “lifting” (when you see someone do something and that make your own version of it).
That’s the result:
Now that’s more like it. Now I’m happy and I can sleep safe and sound. I’m not a complete disaster when it comes to canvases…

And now, I went ahead and put it in my etsy shop. Have a look & spread the word!

Thanks for looking & reading!

It’s been a while

This weekend wasn’t a very fruitful weekend. That’s why I haven’t been writing you guys.
I didn’t get the chance to create a lot but I did meet Ronit for a creation session on last Thursday.
On last Saturday, we celebrated Tu Be’Av here is Israel. It’s the Jewish Valentine’s day… So Ronit & I just had to create something for our husbands.
We went to IKEA and bought some glass jars (and some other stuff) and went to Ronit’s house to work…
We embellished the glass jars and made cards to go along with it, here’s what I made:

This is the lid of the jar that I embellished:
This is the card:
I put the card inside the jar and added some small wooden hearts to fill the box with.
While my husband took a nap, I placed the jar on his night stand (I hope that’s the right phrase) and when he woke up he saw it and… loved it.
Love you, honey!

And as I promised,

The second page was mainly journaling, but I wanted to show you the colors the I picked and that I'm still working on the "Me, Myself & I" mini album. The small picture on the bottom right corner shows the symbol of my home town which is the Sycamore tree.

Have a great day!

Cute stuff!

In addition to the card I showed you on the last post, I made few more items by instructions that I found over the web.
The first item is a "Forever Calendar". For those of you that doesn't know what is it - it's a calendar that contains only the months and dates without the year or the actual days of the week. In that way, you can write birthdays, anniversaries or any other occasion in it and have it on your desk to remind you of those dates forever (hence the name...).

Look at the cute embellishments I used:
Plus... It's the first time I used my Bind-it-All!!! Yay me...
And I have a secret... shhhh... don't tell anyone, but those wires weren't black in the beginning... The wires were baby blue at first and I painted them black to match my calendar.

The second thing I created is a cute little bag (again according to this site - love this site!).
Look at that:
I used only light green & white on this bag. It turned out cute.

And now, for a new thing that I tried this weekend. I got some big (and when I say "big" - I mean "HUGE") clips for my birthday. So, I decided to make bookmarks out of them.
Look at how it turned out:

See-through card...

Hi Everyone! I hope you all had a great week so far.

This week I found a tutorial for a see-through card, so I decided to try it on...
Usually I don't do that. I like doing my own thing, but lately I decided to create some things out of patterns that I find over the web.

Well, Here's the result:

The front of the card is a transparency page that covers the inside of the card which is hand drawn (by me! lol).

I like the result. How about you?

Have a great rest of the day for now!

How about some teasing?

A dear friend of mine (Hi Ronit!) is celebrating her birthday at the end of the month, so of course she's getting a present (no, I don't have any idea what to get her) & a cute greeting card from me...

Since I want it all to be a surprise & since I know she's one of my most faithful readers, I decided to show you all (and especially her) some teasing pictures for you to enjoy:

Now that I look at the pictures, I'm not sure she won't guess how does the card look like, but at least she'll know that it's ready and that she can't have it till her birthday.. Heard me, Ronit? untill your birthday... lol..

Have a great day everyone!

And so, it starts...

I just couldn't belive that I got around making the first page of my "Me, Myself & I" mini album.
I thought that I'll need to go back on my word (I did say I was going to create a page each week).
Anyways, the first page was the easy page so I set down yesterday night I did it...
I have a list of questions that I'm going to dedicate a page to each one of them.
At first I thought that I will go ahead and start with the questions' pages but then I though that I should have some intro like a picture or a title, so here's what I came up with:
And that's me... on the left. We took that picture about a month before our wedding (it's about a year & a half ago). I created it in a simple pattern. After all, it is a mini album, so you can't make it too flashy.

I think that's a cute start. Not too much, Not too little. Just Cute.

An old I.O.U cleared

A few weeks back I had a contest to all my blog's subscribers.
Well, the winner got the set of greeting cards so I can post their pictures.
I want to apologize in advance - the pictures are not in the best quality there is... Sorry.

So, here it is, A five greeting card set:

I used the same size and template in all the cards, just to make them look somewhat the same.
I hope you like them.
